These guys are awesome! We had some serious water damage to our downstairs hardwood floors from a leak in an upstairs... bathroom. A&E was able to find us the perfect match to replace it. We also had them replace an area of flooring that was ripped several years ago. We love our new floors. Evan was super responsive and helpful the entire process. I hope we don’t need any more flooring done anytime soon, but if we do, I definitely know who to call!read more

A couple of months ago I needed to have my carpet and flooring replaced (was 23 years old) through-out my home. A&E... worked with me to choose an appropriate quality and color for the hardwood floors, the bathroom tile and the upstairs carpeting. Evan's pricing was extremely good/competitive and he was a pleasure to work with overall. They came out to review everything with me and to get all the exact measurements for my complete home. We worked through the installation dates/times and his installation team was always on-time each day, and very detailed with everything they did!! This was no small job, but they did an outstanding job with the complete installation!! My wife and I had substantial water damage to our hardwood floors in kitchen, morning room and laundry room. After... reviewing bids from four 5 star companies we decided to go with Evan and A & E Flooring. Not only did we decide to go with Evan and A & E to replace and refinish the entire first floor with hardwoods, but we went with Evan to be the General Contractor for the entire project and we are so glad that we did! What a phenomenal job, from the refinished floors, which look great, to the cabinet and counter top professionals, to the movers, drywallers, painters, plumbers and electricians. Everyone was so professional and helpful during the entire process. The communication between Evan and myself was incredible as he was always available, always took my calls or called me back right away and he was on site most of the time. A & E went above and beyond to make sure we were happy every step of the way. We will be using Evan and his team at A & E Flooring for other future projects.read more

Amazing team and work. Can’t say enough good things. The floors turned out amazing. Our son is autistic and has very... special needs when it comes to sound, routine, and displacement, and my wife was pregnant when A&E came to work on our floors. The owner is laid back, but highly knowledgeable and incredibly responsive. They worked around our schedule and the needs of both our son and my wife. Other companies—brand names—came and quoted us high prices after we had water damage to our downstairs, many saying they couldn’t match the existing floor and would have to replace everything. A&E not only replaced only the damaged boards with the same flooring but sanded and resurfaced the whole downstairs for a very reasonable price. We left them the keys as we went out of town and they not only did an amazing job on the floors, they put everything back from the oven to the kitchen island and downstairs toilet. Also while we were away, they sent photos and gave us updates on the progress unprompted. They are personable, accommodating, and excellent at their work. This is the kind of company you want working on your house. Highly recommended.read more

I had an awful experience. I asked for Grey floors . Evan gave me a brown floors. The Grey floors were sold out and he... lied to me . I do not recommend him at all . Very unprofessional. I basically gave away $3200. He told me that he would do the floors over and he did not. We got into and argument because he yelled at me . He lost a good client.read more

A&E Flooring is the best company in the area for hardwood floors. I did my due diligence in price shopping, reputation,... and project capabilities and am confident in this choice. We converted our spacious master bedroom suite from carpet to hardwood floors to match the existing hardwood floors. We did not want cookie cutter pre-finished beveled floors yet our budget was not limitless. The outcome is a seamless match. From beginning to end our expectations were met with estimate appointments, start and completion dates, costs, overall reliability, and quality craftsmanship. The team showed attention to every detail including keeping their workspace clean and being both friendly and professional. Regarding comparable details: - Home Depot was priced fairly, but they could only install the wood floors which means customers need to find and hire a contractor who can stain and finish - Flooring RVA was unprofessional at the receptionist and intake level and overpriced, and their follow up was non-existent - Costen immediately said they “couldn’t get to this project for at least 3 months” and when I explained our goals over the phone he guesstimated an even more outrageous price than Flooring RVAread more
